WASHINGTON, July 22 (UPI) — Target Corp. of Minneapolis is recalling 13,000 Circo children’s lamps due to problems with overheating, U.S. regulators said.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Circo lamps sold with style names Striped, Sports, Dot and Flower Dot can overheat, causing the adhesive inside of the lamp socket to melt.
The melted glue can make the light bulb difficult to remove, leading to broken bulbs and a higher risk of laceration, the commission said.
The lamps were imported from China and sold nationwide at Target stores from January through April for about $13.
Consumers were advise to stop using the lamps and return them to Target for a full refund.
