Alone with the best way to entertain yourself this holiday

Dec 10, 2009  Posted by Admin in Business News | | No Comments »

Every year, I spent my own Christmas far away from home. Sometimes I think I love who I am and where I am. Single and alone in a strange foreign country isn’t anyone’s fault. But keep myself entertained is my best way to make myself happy.

I love gaming which my mom hated it so much. Home away and alone, it is my time to do more and more gaming. I found myself alive and excited. I don’t drive around desperately seeking something I couldn’t find it. It was just waste time and money.

I prefer to sit front of my computer and play slot machine. Gambling is irresponsible way of life. So I like gaming more than any kind of gambling. If you don’t like gambling, enjoy a game. For me, fair game is all about winning and laughing, no hassle, no nerve. So if you don’t feel what I feel, forget gambling instead of game.

My gaming experience goes quite well. My secret is online slot machines rvm. There are top rated casinos online. Most of my friends were so scared of scram casinos online. There are world top casinos best rated online casinos. There is no chance of cheating or fraud. There is a

Social Message Control – Is It Possible?

Dec 09, 2009  Posted by Admin in Business News | | No Comments »

For many businesses, social media has become an indispensable tool. With its low cost of implementation and ability to drive prospects into the sales funnel, businesses continue to turn to it as a means of more effectively managing and measuring marketing dollar spend. For all it is, it remains somewhat untested in the legal system. It begs the question “What liability if any does a business take on when employees create blog entries, post on Facebook, tweet or use geolocation apps”?

Many businesses are required by law to review external communications before they are made public while others believe a review of external communications is prudent. There are a number of reasons for review and in this article we will address employee / contributor based blog entries. Twitter and facebook are a different matter and we will address them in a future post. Note: Those in the financial & insurance professions should consult FINRA guidelines before venturing into any social communication platform as messages conveyed may be construed as or considered advertising or advice.

Setting up a simple blogging process is easy and we have outlined the ix best practice steps below. Whi

President Obama Turns to Main Street, Small Business for Job Creation Ideas

Dec 09, 2009  Posted by Admin in Business News | | No Comments »

With concerns over unemployment continuing despite last Friday’s rosier-than-expected numbers from the Labor Department, last Thursday President Obama held a “jobs summit” for 130 business leaders, union leaders and economists at the White House. The forum’s goal was to discuss ideas that could help create jobs.

The Washington Post reports Obama addressed a list of proposals including small-business incentives, easing regulatory restrictions for exporters, and providing tax credits for employers. Obama said many of these proposals would create jobs right away, without requiring big expenditures by the federal government.

While many Democrats have urged direct federal investment in creating jobs, specifically by focusing on public works and infrastructure projects, Obama, dealing with a $1.4 trillion federal deficit, has said he does not have the budget for this approach. At the forum, he said that job growth depends on private business, not government: “Ultimately, true economic recovery is only going to come from the private sector.”

After the forum, attendees split into six groups to discuss job creation solutions. At a sessio

Brits spend over a year of their life in the pub

Dec 09, 2009  Posted by Admin in Business News | | No Comments »

A new study has revealed that the average UK drinker will spend over a year of their life in the pub.

The study revealed that the average British male spends a total of 10,585 hours in the pub. In contrast, women are likely to spend around 8,154 hours enjoying a drink with friends and colleagues in the pub.

Adrian Wills, Blighty’s channel head, stated that the survey highlights how the British pub has become so “ingrained in our culture despite the closure of at least 52 pubs every week”.

The study was undertaken by UKTV’s Blighty television channel to coincide with the launch of their documentary – Save Our Boozer. The programme aims at saving local pubs, as well as the jobs of those they employ.

Save Our Boozer is an on-going, five part documentary that features Jay Smith, an award-winning landlord, who is attempting to help local communities revamp struggling small business owned pubs. He hopes to do this by encouraging local people to learn about what life is like on the other side of the beer pumps.

A Remedy to Inbox Overflow

Dec 09, 2009  Posted by Admin in Business News | | No Comments »

At every job I had before becoming a cartoonist, on my desk sat the traditional IN and OUT trays. And occasionally I’d get those really busy days where my inbox was so full I was sure my desk would flip to one side.

All day co-workers would walk by, drop a stack of papers in my tray, and head off secure in the knowledge that it was out of their hands.

So every so often, on those especially crazy days, I’d hide my tray. I’d put it under my desk, pretend everything was normal, and watch for that confused look on passerby’s faces before they moved on papers still sadly in hand. (Bonus tip – pretend to be on the phone to avoid questions about your tray’s whereabouts.)

I’d considered the above cartoon as another remedy to inbox overflow, but never got a chance to try it out.

Habana Premium Cigar Shop moves to former Tri-City Luggage

Dec 08, 2009  Posted by Admin in Business News | | No Comments »

Store owner Scott Bendett at his new store

Habana Premium Cigar Shop said this morning it had quadrupled its store space with a move to the former Tri-City Luggage shop at 1645 Central Ave. in Colonie. The shop also has expanded its inventory to include leather briefcases, pens, wallets, watches, shaving kits hats and pocket knives.

The shop, which began as a cart in 1996 at Colonie Center, previously was located in a 2,000-square-foot space at 1537 Central Ave. The new store occupies 8,400 square feet.

“I believe that history repeats itself. So I’m trying to recreate an old-fashioned Alfred E. Dunhill-type of store that caters to the needs of the discerning man,” said owner Scott Bendett. “Toward that end, we’re integrating some of the Tri-City Luggage business into our new store.”

The retailer also has expanded its line of cigars, humidors, lighters, pipes and pipe tobacco. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Habana also has a location on Route 4, 528 North Greenbush Road, in East Greenbush.

Bartz: Yahoo’s Rivals Aren’t Google and Microsoft

Dec 08, 2009  Posted by Admin in Business News | | No Comments »

Nearly a full year into her tenure at Yahoo, CEO Carol Bartz is still being asked to explain what exactly her vision is for turning around the Internet pioneer.

Yahoo (NASDAQ: YHOO) is a dominant player in Web content, which means a revenue model built almost entirely around advertising. For Bartz, the biggest challenge at Yahoo then is wooing ad dollars away from more traditional media.

“Our competitors at Yahoo are not Microsoft and Google. Our competitors are TV and the other ad formats, because less than 5 percent of ad spending is online,” she said in an on-stage interview today at a media conference hosted by financial services giant UBS. “We’re still [a] relatively new format and industry, so let’s face it, inertia always comes from what you’ve done forever.”

Of course Bartz, who has a penchant for blunt talk, acknowledges that within the online ad sector, Yahoo very much competes with Google (NASDAQ: GOOG), Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) and innumerable other Internet companies for both visitors and ad spending.

But she told analysts and investors today that all those companies share a common goal of seeing advertisers’ budgets come into line with the increasing amount of time people are spending online, at the expense of other media.
